Your writing is yours

Everything you write here - ideas, characters, outlines, manuscripts, cover prompts - belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to publish it. We do not train models on it. You can export the whole lot as a .ficta file at any time, and that file is complete enough to leave with.

What the AI does

When you ask for an expansion, a draft or a cover, the relevant parts of your work are sent to a model provider to produce it. That is the only reason your writing leaves this service. Work generated this way is yours in the same way the rest is; what the law makes of AI-assisted authorship is still moving, and we cannot promise you an outcome there.

Credits

AI costs us money per use, so it is metered in credits. Your plan includes an allowance each month; it does not roll over. Credits you buy do not expire. Running out stops the AI features and nothing else - your writing stays where it is, fully editable and fully exportable, whether or not you have any credits.

Your account

There is no password: anyone who can read your email, or hold your authenticator, can get in. Keep those safe. You can close your account whenever you like, and we will delete your work when you do - so export it first if you want it.

What we do not promise

This is a young product. It may be unavailable sometimes, features may change, and model providers may change what they offer us. We keep backups, but you should keep your own exports of anything you would be upset to lose. That is not us dodging the responsibility; it is the honest advice we would give a friend.
